Our Mission is simple.

To lift up and support those who are protecting us!

We not only support our Military Men and Women, but also EVERYONE who is there for us. Police, Fire, EMTs, Dispatchers, Nurses, Support Personnel, and YES, even our Teachers!

Purpose:

Operation DZ is a charitable organization dedicated to improving the physical, mental, and social well-being of military personnel and families, first responders, and public servants. Through education, trauma support, financial assistance, and community building, we enable those who protect our communities to overcome adversity and build a brighter future.

Healing Through Helping

The Broken Badge is a course taught by Rod Parton. Rod is a Desert Storm Veteran who served with the 82nd Airborne Division. 


Rod then entered the Trama Factory, spending 28 years in law enforcement. During this time, he also served as a firefighter and a Recovery Diver with the Blount Co. Fire Department. Rod’s First Responder Career started with the Knoxville Airport Authority, which is a cross-trained position of Police, Fire, and EMT. Rod then joined the Maryville Police and soon after started their K9 Program with his new partner, K9 Astro. After 17 years with Maryville City, Rod joined the Tennessee Highway Patrol and soon after became a Crash Reconstructionist and a Commercial Vehicle Reconstructionist and completed a course in Instructor Development. During his career span, Rod was involved in a line-of-duty shooting and worked on hundreds of motor vehicle crashes and fatalities. Rod has definitely seen his share of trauma on the streets.

This course is for veterans, first responders, nurses, corrections, dispatchers, and teachers. We encourage everyone to bring their spouse or someone who is close to them so they can learn what we pack inside and never share.

What We Do:

By creating Operation DZ, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we can raise funds faster to help those in need with a faster response. We have partnered with other organizations to help spread the word, and we assess each need on a case-by-case basis. We can help with funeral expenses, medical bills, mortgage payments, utilities, or whatever the case may be.


Operation DZ is also committed to healing our veterans and first responders in mental crisis. This is something that is growing at an alarming rate in our community.
